The Czech-Slovak Historical Yearbook is a peer-reviewed specialised periodical. It is published twice a year. Most issues of the journal are monothematic. The core of each issue are studies or materials focused on a specific topic. In addition to studies and materials (smaller collections of sources), the structure of each issue includes the section Reviews, which contains reviews and annotations on relevant historiographical or related works, and the section Reports on important events (conferences, seminars, exhibitions, information on activities of other bilateral historical commissions and societies) and other activities related to the factual definition of the journal. In accordance with the focus of the yearbook, the section Discussion is filled, and the section Memorabilia, aware of the importance of preserving the memories of important historians and direct actors of historical events as an important part of historical memory.
The Czech-Slovak Historical Yearbook is a platform for presenting the results of research activities in the field of Czech-Slovak relations. It is not a sentimental, idealized view of the past, but a critical analysis and reflection, aware of the fact that these relations have always oscillated between reciprocity and conflicts. The aim of the yearbook is also to systematically map the current historiographical Czech studies in Slovakia or historiographical Slovak studies in the Czech Republic. The journal has an information function, especially in the review and bibliographic part.
The journal is available in the Open Access mode, i.e. in printed version as well as in electronic form. The new cover and its overall more visually appealing form should also reflect the new direction of the journal from issue 1/2021. On the other hand, keeping the original name Czech-Slovak Historical Yearbook proves the fact that we are proud to adhere to its twenty-three-year tradition.
The journal is published by Masaryk University, The Institue of History of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.
Česko-slovenská historická ročenka je odborné recenzované periodikum, vychází dvakrát ročně. Většina čísel je monotematická. Jádrem každého čísla jsou studie, resp. materiálové texty zaměřené na určité vymezené téma. Vedle studií a případně materiálií (menších edic dokumentů) jsou součástí struktury každého čísla rubriky Recenze, obsahující recenze a anotace na z hlediska zaměření časopisu relevantní díla historiografického či příbuzného rázu, a Zprávy o významných akcích (konference, semináře, výstavy, informace o činnosti dalších bilaterálních historických komisí a společností) a jiných počinech souvisejících s věcným vymezením působení periodika. V duchu zaměření časopisu se naplňuje
rubrika Diskuse a při vědomí důležitosti zachování vzpomínek významných
historiček a historiků i přímých aktérů dějinných událostí jako důležité součásti historické paměti i rubriku Memorabilie.
Česko-slovenská historická ročenka je platforma pro prezentování vý-
sledků výzkumné činnosti na poli česko-slovenských vztahů. Nemělo přitom jít
o sentimentální, idealizovaný pohled na minulost, ale o kritickou analýzu a re-
flexi, při vědomí skutečnosti, že tyto vztahy vždy oscilovaly mezi vzájemností
a konflikty. Cílem ročenky je též systematicky mapovat aktuální historiogra-
fickou bohemistku na Slovensku, resp. historiografickou slovakistiku v České
republice. Ročenka má informační funkci, a to
především v recenzní a bibliografické části.
Časopis vychází v režimu Open Access, tedy paralelně v tištěné
a elektronické formě. Odrazem nového směřování časopisu od čísla 1/2021 má být i nová obálka a celkově jeho vizuálně atraktivnější forma. Ponechání původního názvu Česko-slovenská historická ročenka naopak dokládá skutečnost, že se hrdě hlásíme k její třiadvacetileté tradici.
