Abstract: The text deals with the influence of several parallel and mutually exclusive interpretations of the past in the whirlwind of regimes and memory politics, as well as the continuity of values in family memory. Memory of the SNP does not fill in the gaps in the true story of the family of an Evangelical pastor, as this is impossible without additional data from a distance of eighty years. The text is rather about how fundamental historical events are remembered in society and at home from the perspective of the year 2025 and what role rural intelligentsia plays in the memory of democracy.
